People over the age of 16 can be vaccinated in Puerto Rico starting Monday

Due to the increased allocation of COVID-19 vaccines to Puerto Rico, the governor Pedro Pierluisi announced that starting Monday, April 12th, all the inhabitants of the Island over 16 years will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

This was announced by Pierluisi during his time State of affairs message this afternoon at the Capitol.

“Every Puerto Rican and Puerto Rican deserves access to health care and together we will defeat this virus,” he said.

The governor explained that the federal governmenttreated Puerto Rico equally“At the time of sending the vaccines, to which progress in the process would respond.

By extending vaccination, the Island would meet the deadline for President Joe Biden to make vaccination available to all age groups in states and territories by April 19.

“Any Puerto Rican resident over the age of 16 who wants to be vaccinated can schedule and receive the vaccination,” he added.
