Parler CEO John Matze is hiding from death threats

CEO Parler, the conservative social media app, and his family went into hiding because of death threats and harassment, according to a new court case.

The documents, obtained by Fox News, show that John Matze and his family were targeted by people who published his street address and threatened to enter through the front door.

Parler, who is a favorite of Trump’s supporters, was launched from Apple and Google platforms after the Capitol riots and Amazon took over its cloud hosting service, Amazon Web Services.

In response, Parler filed an antitrust lawsuit against Amazon. Amazon has challenged, saying Parler’s lawsuit has no valid legal basis and claiming that Amazon employees were threatened and harassed, Fox News reported.

Parler’s lawyers acknowledged some of Amazon’s claims in court documents, but said they were not just Amazon employees under fire.

“Although AWS’s proposal to seal focuses only on its own employees, Parler’s employees have been harassed and threatened in a similar manner,” the file said. “Parler CEO John Matze, Jr. reports in his statement in support of Parler’s TRO proposal that many Parler employees suffer harassment and hostility, fear for the safety of themselves and their families, and in some cases have fled the state. their native escapes persecution.

“Matze himself, while the CEO of AWS continues to denounce, had to leave his home and hide with his family after receiving death threats and invasive personal security breaches,” the case continued.

Matze described his situation on Fox News last week.

“There’s a group called UGNazi targeting me,” Matze said, referring to the hackers who released many of his passwords and personal information online. “They published my street address, they threatened to enter my front door.”

Matze said he is worried enough to hide with his family and is not sure when he will return home. But he said there was a silver lining up to his situation.

“He probably leveled me,” Matze said. “If I were at home right now, I think my stress level would have been three times higher … at least there is saving grace.”
