Parents find a bright hiding place for the Christmas present

PlayStation 5 was easily one of the hottest items this holiday season and a number of parents worked overtime to secure the console as a Christmas present. Given the effort that most of them had to go through, parents can hardly be blamed for working overtime to make sure the secret was kept well hidden. Reddit user bbbbbbbbbb99 shared a picture of the perfect hiding place for the PS5: on the bottom shelf of the dishwasher, as most teenagers are not the best at opening the appliance to put the dishes in the package! Of course, as some Reddit users were quick to point out, this could backfire if the dishwasher were somehow turned on!

With the start of the holiday season, it will be interesting to see what impact it will have on the demand for the PS5 console. After the system was launched in November, PS5 units became a difficult item to track. In the secondary market, the console ordered more than double the MSRP, which was probably exacerbated by the use of robots. The demand for the console was so high this year that it even led to one of the best scenes of the Saturday Night Live season, about a fan who obsessively wrote Santa Claus to ask for the console. Clearly, the system has become a cultural phenomenon in the last two months!

While some parents and fans managed to get the system without too much difficulty, others can hardly be blamed for stopping the purchase of a PS5 until after the holidays. After all, some of the best games on the system can also be purchased on the PS4. System deficiencies are very common around launch, especially given that most consoles tend to launch around November. In October, Sony announced plans to ship 7.6 million PS5 consoles worldwide by March 2021. If the company hopes to reach this ambitious sales figure, it will have to make consoles more readily available, which will mean more many opportunities for fan one.
