Pagani Huayra Tricolore is an expression of 829 horsepower of national pride

About a decade ago, Pagani unveiled the Zonda Tricolore, a special edition celebrating Frecce Tricolori – the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force. Now Pagani has unveiled a new Tricolore based on Huayra with a production limited to only three cars.

First reported by Motor1The Tricolore uses the same 6.0-liter V-12 Mercedes-AMG engine as other Huayra variants, but tuned to produce 829 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. With 2 hp more than the car on the tracks Huayra Imola Pagani unveiled earlier this year, with the same torque. Tricolore weighs slightly more than 2,800 pounds, compared to 2,747 pounds for Imola.

The power from the mid-mounted V-12 is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed sequential transmission. Pagani did not quote the performance figures for Tricolore.

The special edition carries a book inspired by the Aermacchi MB-339 aircraft used by Frecce Tricolori. It also receives a different front bumper with larger sockets, a prominent front divider and a model-specific rear spoiler.

Inside, the Huayra Tricolore has a single-block aluminum shift knob and blue anodized aviation alloy trim. The blue and white seats refer to the Zonda Tricolore.

Huayra Tricolore is priced at $ 6.7 million. Like the Zonda Tricolore, it will probably be one of the latest variants of the supercar on which it is based. While a Huayra R model is scheduled to be unveiled in January 2021, Pagani claims it will end production and has a Huayra successor in the works. Huayra and Zonda could technically live forever, however, as Pagani is happy to continue rebuilding cars for customers on demand.
