According to reports released this afternoon, January 18, San Diego Padres have reached an agreement to sign pitcher Joe Musgrove of the Pittsburgh Pirates. This is part of the moves that the San Diego team is making for the start of the 2021 MLB season.
ESPN reporter and MLB insider Jeff Passan, San Diego Padres, are about to sign an agreement to take over the services of pitcher Joe Musgrove, who belongs to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Passan adds that his sources reported that the negotiation depends only on medical evidence.
Joe Musgrove, a left-hander, would come to Padres in a trade for a long “package” of potential young people who would go to Pirates. These could include Hudson Head, a well-ranked, central perspective of the organization.
Musgrove has five years of MLB experience for teams such as the Houston Astros and Pittsburgh Pirates. He will probably compete for fifth place in a Padres rotation that they have gradually strengthened and which is led by newcomer Yu Darvish.
Joe Musgrove has a 29-38 record in games won and lost, as well as an ERA 4.33. Of the five MLB seasons, the first two were with Astros and were subsequently traded in Pittsburgh in 2018.
