Green Bay Packers receiver Davante Adams is officially the newest member of the “99 Club”, an exclusive group that includes all 99-ranked virtual players in the “Madden NFL” video game franchise.
His teammate Aaron Rodgers greeted Adams at the club with the video above.
“It’s time,” Rodgers said. “Finally, get what you deserve, man.”
“One-seven is officially in club 99,” Adams said.
Adams joins Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald, Carolina Panthers, replacing Christian McCaffrey, Arizona Cardinals receiver DeAndre Hopkins, Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes New England Patriots quarterback Stephon Gilmore, and Travis Kelce in “99 Club.”
Adams started the season at 94 overall. Lately, he has been overtaken by one point five times and most recently improved to 98 in week 13.
In just 13 games this season, Adams has 109 catches for 1,328 yards and 17 touchdowns in the NFL. He caught three more touchdown passes against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.
The honor included a “99” necklace.
“I think that necklace has the same color as a jacket that you could wear here in about a decade or so. I hope you like that color, because you like it, “said Rodgers, referring to Adams’ potential to be a football player.
Rodgers joined Club 99 during the 2018 season.
“I’ve put a lot of work into it, so I’m glad it paid off and I’m glad it’s recognized,” Adams said.
The Packers currently have five players ranked 90 or better: Adams (99), left-back David Bakhtiari (96), Rodgers (95), defender Jaire Alexander (93) and defender Aaron Jones (90).
