Packers receive offensive line help in Daniel Jeremiah’s new fake project

The latest fake project from Daniel Jeremiah on the NFL.com makes the Green Bay Packers get help for the offensive line at the end of the first round.

Jeremiah’s fake project sent Oklahoma offensive lineman Teven Jenkins to the Packers in 29th place overall.

Jenkins’ selection would give the Packers a valuable depth to the offensive approach and a potential long-term starter to the right approach opposite David Bakhtiari. Jeremiah believes that Jenkins can play both attack and guard, giving another player valuable versatility for the Packers offensive line.

Matt LaFleur’s offense has largely used Rick Wagner and Billy Turner in the right-wing attack in 2020. Turner may play more positions and may need to play the left-wing attack to start 2021, while Wagner – despite a strong season in 2020 – could be a victim this season. The Packers could also lose center All-Pro Corey Linsley as a free agent, possibly requiring goalkeeper Elgton Jenkins or Lucas Patrick to move inside.

Here is Jenkins’ speech from Jeremiah’s big picture:

Jenkins is a strong and powerful attack. He gets out of his position very quickly in the passing game and can cover the field in a hurry. He has no problem with expulsion to cover speed. However, it has some problems when it needs to quickly redirect inside, which leads to certain allowed pressures. He has strong, violent hands, but sometimes he will become too aggressive, which affects his balance. However, it absorbs rushers strongly. It’s fun to watch him in the running game. He can hook up and throw lines over his nose. Collect a lot of knockdowns. He has the speed to cut the back and climbs very efficiently to the second level. In general, Jenkins has some balance issues to correct, but I like size, speed, and ugliness. I see him as a quality NFL starter at the right attack.

Jenkins is the 26th general player on the big board at Pro Football Focus. According to the site, he allowed only four total pressures while playing a correct attack this past season.

Keeping Aaron Rodgers protected should continue to be a long-term priority for packers. The 37-year-old defender took just 20 sacks in total in 16 games in the regular season during his 2020 MVP season.

The Packers did not develop a real offensive attack from Jason Spriggs in the second round of 2016. The need for a position would decrease if Wagner returns in 2021, but he is only under contract for another season and has had problems with injuries in the past. .

Jeremiah’s first off-season draft made the Packers take Tutu Atwell on the Louisville receiver.
