Pablo Sandoval makes the opening list for the Atlanta Braves

ATLANTA – Pablo Sandoval made the opening list for the Atlanta Braves.

The team made a lot of moves on Saturday to complete its list of 26 men, which included selecting the 34-year-old Sandoval contract, who was a non-list guest this spring.

The two-time All-Star and 2012 World Series MVP is looking to revive his career as a banker with the Braves. The switch-hitter won its place with a strong bow, hitting .429 with four RBIs in 35 bats.

The Braves, who open the season Thursday in Philadelphia, have also selected the contracts of two other non-list players: infielder Ehire Adrianza and reliever Nate Jones.

Midfielder Jason Kipnis, a two-time All-Star who is trying to make the Braves a guest without a list, has been released.

In addition, the team led outfielder Abraham Almonte to the alternate training ground, appointed outfielder Phillip Ervin for the assignment and placed pitcher Touki Toussaint on the 60-day injured list with a tense right shoulder.

Sandoval, whose contract will be updated to a $ 1 million deal, hit .214 in 84 bats with the Braves and San Francisco Giants in 2020. He was added to Atlanta’s post-season roster, following not to be successful in four appearances in The Brave entered a game to reach the World Series.

The brave hopes that Sandoval can return to the form he showed in 2019, when he hit .268 with 14 homers for the Giants.

Adrianza claimed a new opening on the Atlanta bench, hitting .412 in spring training, with two homers and an RBI of 12 teams until Friday’s game.

The versatile 31-year-old Venezuelan, who previously played for San Francisco and Minnesota, will provide depth at the break behind Dansby Swanson. Adrianza has also played the other positions on the field as well as the field throughout her career.

Jones is another non-roster player who impressed the Braves this spring. The 35-year-old right-hander allowed a single run through seven appearances covering 7 innings of 1-3, giving up three shots with a single walk.

Jones played eight seasons with the Chicago White Sox before moving to Cincinnati last season, where he went 0-1 with 6.27 ERA in 21 appearances.

The Braves will start with just four starters on their pitching team after choosing Bryse Wilson as the alternative training place for what is expected to be a two-week stay.

The Braves will not use a fifth starter on their first spin. Wilson will likely start his first start on April 13 after defeating Kyle Wright for fifth place.

Mike Soroka will start the season on the injury list, while continuing his recovery after a torn Achilles.
