In his place, David Josué Martínez was appointed Minister, who is only known to be an economist and who worked in the Secretary for Trade and Investment of the Bukele government.

The main findings of the audit of the Court of Accounts at the Ministry of Agriculture

Anliker was in charge of the institution, which is currently being investigated by both the Attorney General’s Office and the Court of Auditors for irregularities in the procurement process for the Health Emergency Program (PES) that delivers food packages to the population in the Covid-19 pandemic.

The main irregularities found in the audit carried out so far by the Court of Auditors include the purchase of maize flour at an additional charge, the purchase of food without sanitary records and the record of zero consumption of foreign companies from which it purchased the goods. .

Anliker can also file complaints with the Court of Ethics for obstructing last year’s audits by the Court of Auditors.

Recently, Bukele also appointed Gustavo Villatoro as the new Minister of Security, replacing Rogelio Rivas, who has been in office since Bukele took over the presidency on June 1, 2019. The president did not detail the reason for Rivas’ departure.
