Outriders launches in less than a week and if you intend to cheat, be warned: you will be marked forever as a dirty cheat and you will not be able to play with the players who follow the rules through matchmaking.

In a pre-launch blog post on Steam, Outriders developer People Can Fly presented a lot of information about things like pre-upload, post-launch support, game demo changes, and other. A section was dedicated to cheaters. And it seems that people can fly talking seriously about scammers. What’s interesting about this is that Outriders is strictly a cooperative and solo online shooter. There is no PVP or competitive aspect in the game.

According to the developers, only about 0.01% of demo players cheated. But to be clear, the studio sees you all. All of you. He even highlighted a cheater who gave himself up 600 poorly obtained legendary weapons. It’s awesome! (Contact me if you read this, I have questions.)

If you decide to cheat, you will not be banned, but you will be punished in other ways. For starters, cheaters will be separated from legitimate players during the match. People Can Fly warns that this is likely to lead to longer waits. Also a small, discreet, but easy to notice the mark will be added to HUD. So, if you are a popular streamer, everyone will be able to fool you.

The developers also presented what they think is wrong. Here is the list:

  • Intentional running the game on PC without Easy Anti Cheat (EAC)
  • Modifying game files to improve a character: levels, abilities, inventory, etc.
  • External change of game time to reduce time-dependent features such as vendors and challenges
  • Using a coaching program or similar to gain benefits in the game
  • Use gameplay modification programs such as aimbots or wallhacks.

If you cheated during the demonstration, People Can Fly gives you the chance to repent and wash away your sins. Before starting the full game, which will allow players to bring their characters and demo equipment, you will need to delete all the characters and items from your entire account. A complete deletion. Do this and your account will not be marked as a scam.

People can also fly clarified that prey farming is not a scam. So feel free to go out in search of the Outriders prey cave-equivalent. And to be clear, deception will not forbid you. So if you just want to play solo or with a friend who cheats too, you can do that. You’ll be marked as a cheater, but you probably don’t care anyway!

Outriders is set to launch on April 1 for (deep breathing) PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X / S, Xbox One and PC. Will be available on the first day on the Xbox Game Pass.
