Order Girl Scout cookies on GrubHub starting Monday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to erupt, the researchers hope to bring you a smile and a delicious taste with their annual cake season.

But as many businesses, Scouts adapt their business model to suit the needs of people in the community during the pandemic.

They came up with several ways to distribute cookies safely, without limited contact.

One way is to call GrubHub.

Starting Monday, you can order Thin Mints, Samoas, Tag-A-Longs and more through the food delivery app.

“The girls will have the backend of this e-business in this e-commerce business and will track their sales locally. They will prepare the sales and fulfill the orders, then GrubHub will come in and pick it up and deliver it right at home, ”explained Mary Anne Jacobs, CEO of Gateway Council.

This year you will also find drive-thru cookie booths, virtual cookie booths and, of course, booths outside your local store with new security protocols.

Another contactless option will be the door hangers left on the front door with a QR code.

“You can actually scan the code, access our website, choose your zip code, choose your favorite band, and offer them to either deliver your cookies or deliver them,” Jacobs said.

“New this season, Girl Scouts of Gateway Council is participating in a national collaboration with the Grubhub food ordering and delivery platform, so that girls have an additional way to facilitate contactless cookie orders. On the board, cookie fans can order Girl Scout cookies for pickup or delivery Grubhub.com or the Grubhub app. A hands-on experience in e-commerce management, local Girl Scouts will track and fulfill orders, manage inventory and more, all using Grubhub’s back-end technology. This method will be available in many areas of North Florida from February 1 to March 7. As always, the proceeds benefit the troops and the council, while providing another innovative way to safely run the cookie. GSUSA is grateful to Grubhub for waiving all fees for the organization to make this new delivery option feasible for sales without reducing troop and board revenues. ”
