OnePlus Watch may not be the smart watch that will change the game everyone was hoping for, but you may be interested in these OnePlus game triggers that the company’s CEO has just teased and (lately) only one marketing man Pete Lau?
In a tweet this morning, Lau shared two images of game-triggering accessories that seem to work by blinking on a smartphone. They offer shoulder buttons for smartphones – suitable for many first-person shooters, such as PUBG, Call of Duty: Mobile, or Fortnite, or racing or fighting games.
“We designed the OnePlus game triggers to be solid, responsive, pleasant to click, and, yes, beautiful,” Lau wrote on Twitter. “We’ve also made sure it works with many other phones – because the best product design is one that lets you make your own choices.”
Apart from a few pictures and Lau’s tweet, we don’t know anything else about the additional game triggers. How long will they be? What games will they work with? Is it really a product that goes into production or just another OnePlus concept? OnePlus game triggers were originally teased during the launch event of the OnePlus 9 series, but they fell off our radar because everyone was so focused on the Hasselblad’s 9 Pro camera.
“For you gamers, we’re introducing a new OnePlus game trigger with capacitive detection technology,” said Ryan Fenwick, head of global corporate communications at OnePlus. “Simply connect one or both triggers to update your mobile gaming experience.”
I hope God is real, because I’ve been very envious of the many gaming phones, such as Redmagic 6 or ROG Phone 5, that have built-in touch buttons.
I contacted OnePlus for more information. Playing games with claw hands is so stupid and silly.
