Patch 11.0.0 for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate added Pyra & Mythra as DLC and applied some pretty significant adjustments to the game’s balance. Characters such as Captain Falcon, Ganondorf, Pichu, King Dedede and Byleth received some wonderful amateurs in their kit. Meanwhile, some fighters such as Palutena, Joker, Wario and Zero Suit Samus were left slightly untouched.
However, it seems that one of the most shocking buffs has not even been listed in Nintendo’s patch notes. One of the best Wii Fit Trainer attacks, the Header, received a significant reduction in landing recovery. It could be even more accurate to say that the recovery of its landing has been completely eliminated.
Prior to patch 11.0.0, the Wii Fit Trainer needed about 9 frames of recovery after landing in the Header – which it always does in the air. The latest update has meant that the only Wii Fit Trainer landing frames are now determined by the game’s universal hard landing frames – which are 4 frames. This means that the Wii Fit Trainer always cancels its Header now.
In other words, the Wii Fit Trainer will now recover in 4 frames after landing from the special Header instead of 9 frames. When used close to the ground, the Wii Fit Trainer will now recover 5 frames faster than before.
Since the Wii Fit Trainer Header is such an essential part of his game plan, this single buff will likely have a significant impact on the Wii Fit Trainer meta in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
In addition to improving the Wii Fit Trainer’s zoning options, it can now more easily use its special header in combinations. With the right setup, these combinations and header conversions can be extremely harmful. Wii Fit Trainer also has new kill confirmations due to the buff.

Many people do not even know that the Fitre was fixed with a siren, but in addition to this solution, the landing gap on the B side has been reduced.

Why was this change made in the first place? According to Invy, members of the Japanese Wii Fit Discord have contacted the Super Smash Bros. development team. Ultimate and made them aware of a certain bug regarding the Wii Fit Trainer header.
This error appears to have disabled the use of the Header if the Wii Fit Trainer landed while canceling Sun Salutation or Deep Breathing. It seems that the solution was to completely eliminate the recovery of movement.
Although this is a significant buff for the Wii Fit Trainer, the move frame data is not completely meaningless as a result of this change. Performed as quickly as possible, the Wii Fit header now requires 48 frames instead of 53 frames while sitting on flat ground. Of course, this can be accelerated a bit more with Active Deep Breathing and the Special Staled Header.
However, performing the “quick version” of the Header will hit the ball in the air, which is more ideal for aerial approaches. To hit the ball down, Wii Fit Trainer users must delay hitting the ball by about 3-4 extra frames from the fastest possible start time.
It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. As the head coach of Wii Fit Trainer, we hope he’s here to stay.
