GLENDALE, AZ – One person is dead and two others are injured in a crash in the West Valley.
The accident occurred along Loop 101 to the north, near Cardinals Way, in Glendale, early in the morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the driver of the vehicle in the wrong direction suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger was taken to hospital and pronounced dead. Both occupants of the vehicle in the wrong direction were women, DPS said on the spot.
The driver of the vehicle who was hit by the driver in the wrong direction, identified only as a man, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The deficiency is being investigated as a factor in the accident.
The road was closed for several hours, but reopened around 6 a.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
