Offer received by JJ Watt worth $ 15MM – $ 16MM?

JJ Watt the raffle begins to heat up. ESPN’s Dianna Russini reports that the Defensive Player of the Year has “received contract offers from several teams” three times. It is believed that the most profitable offer is between 15 and 16 million USD, per Russini.

A handful of teams have been continuously connected to Watt, including the Cleveland Browns. The ESPN report states that it is uncertain whether Browns is one of the teams that submitted an offer to the veteran. Cleveland is armed with more than $ 30MM in cover space and was previously considered a legitimate threat to sign Watt.

Invoices, packages and titans have also been listed as potential landing places for the 31-year-old. Each of these three teams is currently over the top, so they have a few financial hurdles to overcome before they can finally sign Watt on a profitable contract. The Titans have already started with some cover-up movies, including their reported wideout release Adam Humphries from today earlier.

One team that looks like Watt won’t land is the Steelers. Earlier this week, veteran NFL reporter John Clayton said Pittsburgh will not be a landing point for the former Texan.

Watt may grow old, but that doesn’t mean he still can’t be productive in the right role. His five sacks in 2020 were his lowest total in a 16-game campaign (but a half-glass mentality would notice that a 16-game season is encouraging in itself). In addition, Watt was named general counsel for Pro Football Focus no. 7 in 2020, the site of advanced measurements praising the veteran’s work against running and passing.
