While Apple is still working on its big two-year transition to homemade Apple chips, even now software developers are already porting their apps, Nvidia has just added support for M1 Macs to its streaming client GeForce Now.
Last spring, Nvidia released support for GeForce Now on iPhone and iPad via Safari, and while users were able to simulate the process on Macs by editing the string of user agents, the experience was not properly optimized, which led to often at less than ideal performance.
However, in GeForce Now version 2.0.27Not only does Nvidia add beta support for streaming games via Google Chrome on both Windows and macOS, Nvidia has also updated its native GeForce Now app to include support for M1-based Macs. This means that users with MacBooks based on M1 or Mac Minis will have two ways to stream games from the cloud using GeForce Now, along with Google Stage, which has been available on M1 Macs since launch.
In fact, although it’s still technically early access, Mac users can also stream games using Amazon’s Luna game streaming service to a total of three different cloud game streaming providers.
In addition to the added support for Chromium, the latest update to GeForce Now also includes a new way to invite your friends to your games by simply sending them a special URL generated in Chrome. Alternatively, on the iPhone and iPad, Nvidia says invitations to games created through the Sharing option can be sent to friends who play apps, including iMessage, Whatsapp, and more.

Elsewhere in other Apple news, Apple recently released a new Chrome extension for Windows which allows you to more easily access iCloud passwords saved on a non-Mac computer. The extension is designed to transfer password storage to iCloud, while syncing any password created on your Windows computer to the rest of your Apple devices using iCloud Keychain.
