Not every Roku Pro remote will have a TV + button due to the apparent last minute transaction

Earlier this week, Roku made a few announcements about Apple, including HomeKit and AirPlay 2, which come on its HD streaming devices and a dedicated Apple TV + button that comes on Voice Remote Pro. However, it seems that the first buyers of the remote control will not necessarily see this change due to a last minute agreement between the companies.

In some of the images Roku shared this week with the new Voice Remote Pro, there are four buttons dedicated to popular services: Netflix, Disney +, Apple TV + and Hulu. However, when Zatz Not Funny! writer Adam Miarka received his new Voice Remote Pro, missed the new Apple TV + button, and instead has one for Sling.

Apparently, this is the same version that Roku sent to a limited number of customers in a test in February. When you visit the new $ 30 remote control on the company’s website, the first image shows the empty shortcuts (programmable), with subsequent images showing Netflix, Disney +, Hulu and Sling. And the stock seems to be available now, suggesting that it could be sold first through the Sling shortcut and is still working on getting Apple TV + on the devices.

Roku says in the second image of the remote control on its website that “the channel’s shortcut buttons may vary.”

In reply to Zatz Not Funny !, The Verge’s He mentioned Chris Welch that Roku said that Voice Remote Pro will be “in transition” to the Apple TV + button, suggesting that the business happened “very, very recently”.

In particular, the Amazon listing for the Roku Voice Remote Pro shows the same first image with empty control buttons, but the following images with the Apple TV + button, along with a waiting time of 1-2 months.

It may seem difficult to know if you will get the Apple TV + button for sure, but the best option, for now, is to probably wait to pick up Voice Remote Pro if this is an important factor for you. Shortcut buttons are programmable , but for Apple users, printing Sling on one instead of Apple TV + can be frustrating.
