The Biden administration has been receiving North Korean leader Kim Jong Un since February, according to the BBC. Biden’s team in North Korea has tried to reach Pyongyang in a number of ways to try to calm tensions created by the Trump administration, including the so-called “New York Canal” through the North Korean mission to the United Nations, but have yet to received a response or even acknowledgment of efforts. The United States and North Korea have reached a stalemate in failed talks on the nation’s dishonest nuclear and ballistic missile programs last year. Trump met with Kim three times, the last of which ended with the then-outgoing US president. And the state media in North Korea has not yet recognized Biden as the new American president.
