Drinkbox Studios, the decision makers of the popular brawler Guacamelee!, have a new game on the way. It’s an action role-playing game called Nobody saves the world.

In the Nobody saves the world, the world in question needs to save itself from an event of the day of judgment called Calamity. Although he shares a name and a purpose (destroys everything) with the Calamity of Supergiant Bastion, it is less a “faceless destructive force that consumes everything” and more an “invading army of monsters”. Beautiful and simple.

You are cast as a character named Nobody (don’t you catch him?) Who stumbles upon a magic wand, allowing you to change into various unlockable shapes. If you want to be a ranger, you can do that. A bodybuilder? And this. How about a horse? Yes!

From a top-down perspective, you will explore an underworld and approach procedurally generated dungeons. Drinkbox says the game will not grind. Instead, you’ll unlock shapes, abilities, progressions, and the like by completing quests. These missions can range from “breaking things” to “becoming a rat” to the very presumptuous “cheering a rabbit-loving colleague.” (Personally I am more loved by rabbits.)

Nobody saves the world will be released later this year for Xbox and PC consoles. It will be available on Game Pass on both platforms from day one.
