No MLB team made an offer to Edwin Encarnacion; focuses on business

Edwin Encarnacion is 38 years old, has a good career in the major leagues, with 424 at home and 1,832 hits and is currently in the free agency.

But the news around him is that the man, originally from La Romana, did not receive an offer from any of the 30 clubs in the major league.

In 2020, he played for the Chicago White Sox on a $ 12 million contract (or a 37% stake due to Covid 19).

Edwin played in 44 of the 60 scheduled games, hitting 10 homers, 19 RBIs and a .157 batting average.

Now that he doesn’t have MLB offers, he’s still not thinking about retirement.

“No, I didn’t think of that,” Encarnación said in an interview with Héctor J. Cruz in the Sports News in Listín Diario and his entire digital platform.

Encarnacion also talks about his foray into business.

On Tuesday, President Luis Abinader took the first pike to inaugurate the works of a hotel related to the Hilton chain, in La Romana, a project in which Encarnación is the main investor.
