
State plan for reopening: California’s plan for a safer economy has upgraded its responsibilities today, and local counties have remained where they were. Tuolumne and Mariposa are currently in the Orange level, a less restrictive level than Calaveras and Stanislaus, who are in the Red level. Governor Gavin Newsom said the Blueprint system could disappear altogether by June 15 if cases continue to decline and the number of people vaccinated continues to rise. The state framework for the week ending April 3 for Tuolumne was 1.8 Case rate per 100,000 population decreasing from 2.5 Case rate and 1.8 Test positivity rate of 1.2% . The Calaveras rate increased to 2.7, from 7.1 Case rate and to a 5.5% test positivity rate, from 4.1%.
Tuolumne County – Tuolumne Public Health reports two new cases of COVID. There are currently no hospitalized cases, six are active. Tuolumne County has a total of 4,058 cases divided into 2,642 community cases and 1,416 cases of detainees of the Sierra Conservation Center (SCC), there are currently no active COVID-19 active detainees in prison. The total number of community cases released from isolation is 2,572, and the total number of tests administered is 86,911. The county report lists 32,167 doses of vaccine administered in Tuolumne.
Public Health Tuolumne recommends vaccination, wearing a mask, washing hands, physical distance, avoiding congestion and not going to work or school when they are sick continues to offer layers of protection to each person, loved ones and community, the county is in levels less restrictive and more activities open.
Calaveras County – The Calaveras public health report had four new COVID-19 cases, the total number of counties at 2,045 and active cases increasing by two to 14 and recoveries increasing by two to 1,978. No inhabitants of Calaveras with COVID are hospitalized. In total, there were 949 men, 1,078 women and 18 without sex reported infected with COVID-19. The total number of people over the age of 65 identified with COVID is 445 since the pandemic began. Calaveras reports 25,837 vaccinations.
Mariposa County – Mariposa reported a new case today, an 88-year-old woman infected from one person to another. Mariposa has three active cases and one resident is currently in hospital with COVID. Mariposa had 417 positives in total and remains in the Orange lineup.
Vaccines – Individuals should register on MyTurn at https://myturn.ca.gov to be notified of upcoming vaccination clinics and to schedule appointments. You can also call 833-422-4255. Tuolumne Public Health Clinic scheduled for April 22when is open for MyTurn appointments, Calaveras Public Health has been using the system for over a month and Mariposa is still using it. Public health notes by April 15of, appointments will be limited to eligible groups at the state level: age over 50 years, 16-64 years with health conditions and identified sectors until April 15of when eligibility will be open to anyone over the age of 16 (Pfizer), 18+ (Moderna or Janssen). Testing: The Mother Lode Fairgrounds test site is open Sunday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., closed Friday and Saturday. The Groveland site is at the Youth Center, 18950 Hwy 120 on Thursdays from 07:00 to 19:00. Individuals can select the location of the site when making their appointment at www.lhi.care/covidtesting or by calling 888-634-1123.
