No, 500,000 GeForce RTX 30 GPUs were not found in the lost shipment

A story floated around that 500,000 embedded graphics cards from the GeForce RTX 30 series were discovered in a shipping container – missing during transit, but the story was BS.

No, 500,000 GeForce RTX 30 GPUs were not found in the lost transport 01 | TweakTown.com

Geeknetic.es first reported the story which, when introduced into Google Translate, says that an employee of Samsung’s subsidiary port warehouses, somewhere in South Korea, found a pile of boxes with NVIDIA logos on them. These staff mentioned that the transport was not in the records of the port.

The staff themselves tried to buy a GeForce RTX 30 Series graphics card and, after seeing hundreds of boxes of NVIDIA products, “just added to my frustration of not getting one“.

RTX 3070, 3080 and 3090 are still hard to find. A deficit favored by strong demand, excessively long production cycles and the global pandemic, which does not make things easier. Good news, though, because a South Korean port operator just got a lost shipment of 500,000 GeForce RTX 3000 cards!

Once the news set the internet on fire, the author of the original play added: “This is a fake news created and published on December 28 in the celebration of the Day of the Holy Innocents in Spain. Its content is fake and was created for a satirical humorous purpose. We hope you enjoyed reading it“.

Sigh.
