Nintendo’s Switch year under review shows how much you spent avoiding 2020

Every December, companies like Spotify and Tiktok give you access to an overview of how you’ve used their services over the past year. Nintendo is one of those companies. Now that we are just a few days away from 2021, the gaming giant has overturned its 2020 live Switch review tool. Like the 2019 version, it will reveal the Switch games that have occupied you most of the time in recent months. It will also let you know the number of hours you’ve played so far, so you can compare it to last year and find out how much more time you’ve spent playing COVID-19 locks.

This year’s review also includes a list of the most played games, which dictates the result you will get in the panel that shows what kind of player you have been this year. Then you can download a chart from that panel that you can share on social media. In my case, I received a “Nintendo Fan” because I played mostly titles published by the company. Another Engadget editor who played mostly Animal crossing new horizons received “Getaway Traveler” for realizing the “potential of a desert island”. Here’s what the shareable image looks like:
