There has been a lot of talk that Nintendo could relaunch a bunch of older Link games in an All-Star collection similar to the one released last year by Mario, but Nintendo itself hasn’t actually said anything about has planned for Zelda’s big birthday.
But now we have some news related to the Zelda series (in general), courtesy of Pokekalos’ webmaster @KeliosFR.
It was discovered, Nintendo filed a new trademark in Australia late last year for the launch of DS 2007 Legend of Zelda: Ghost Hourglass and was accepted in November. This game, with Link and Captain Linebeck, is a sequel to the GameCube hit, Wind Waker and used touch screen inputs.
In the trademark description, it covers all the usual things, such as video game programs and downloadable software. Of course, trademarks don’t necessarily guarantee that something is on the way – but again, it’s an important anniversary year for The Legend of Zelda, so who knows what might happen.
In a related note, Nintendo currently has another 17 trademarks pending.
