Shining in the dark
This week sees the long-awaited arrival of Square Enix ‘ NieR Replicant. For those of you who just can’t wait for the last few days, PlayStation Underground is behind you, offering 15 minutes of gameplay captured directly from the PS4 edition of the remaster. In addition, Publisher Square Enix released a new trailer with “additional content” this morning, featuring some of the exciting new features added to the updated edition of the action-RPG.
Narrated by Tim Underground and Kristen of PS Underground and accompanied by Reid Taguchi of Square Enix, the video describes the early exploits of the protagonist Nier’s adventure. The young hero visits the Lost Sanctuary for the first time, solving puzzles, engaging in battle and coming face-to-face with his colleague Grimoire Weiss, who will accompany Nier in their search. The preview ends with an epic meeting with one of the powerful guardians of the altar, as Nier and Weiss team up for the first of the many battles the duo will face.
NieR Replicant will view updated images, re-recorded voiceovers and a rearranged soundtrack supervised by original composer Keiichi Okabe. As discussed in the video, the fight has been optimized for the modern era and should feel easier to relate to those fans who joined the series with a continuous blow. NieR: Automata. I can easily admit that I have delayed this franchise and therefore I am very much looking to check NieR Replicant in this modern, polished format. It really looks very boring.
NieR Replicant launches April 23 on PS4, PC and Xbox One.
