Nicole Kidman will play the lead role and produce an adaptation of the Norwegian family drama Hope

Nicole Kidman will star in an adaptation of the Norwegian family drama Hope.

The 53-year-old Australian actress will also produce the executive project, which will turn director Maria Sødahl’s Oscar into a series.

The Kidman’s Blossom Films banner will work with Amazon Studios, which has a first deal with the studio.

The series is described as an emotionally complicated drama about a blended-family.

The film focused on the drama around 12 days in which the family spends Christmas together, during which time a marriage takes place.

Andrea Bræin Hovig and Stellan Skarsgård played the original hope. It was a critical success, winning the European Cinemas Label award for best film in the Panorama section of the Berlin Film Festival.

She was also nominated for Best Director and Best Actress at the 2020 European Academy Awards.

Alice Bell will adapt the show and serve as executive producer.

He is currently working with Amazon and Blossom on the writing and EPing of the upcoming pre-production series The Expatriates. It is set to be directed by Lulu Wang and star Kidman.

The news about the project comes at a busy time for Kidman, who has just broken his silence when accepting the coveted role of Lucille Ball.

“I like Lucille, after looking at her now and delving into her,” Nicole told Variety, adding that part of her preparation was to watch the old episodes of I Love Lucy.
