© Pokémon CompanyPokémon Go developer Niantic offers eight lucky players the chance to immortalize their avatar in the game through the Pokémon Go Tour: Kanto event.
To have a chance to win this unique prize, you need to send a screenshot of the Pokémon Go avatar via Twitter (don’t forget to use the hashtag #PokemonGOTourContest), as well as the three ‘mon of your dream fighting team (only non-legendary or mythical Kanto creatures).
Applications will be judged by Niantic, and the deadline is Monday, January 11, 2021, at 23:59 PST (GMT -8). The full terms and conditions can be found here.

If you’ve ever played one of the Pokémon games in the main series, you know how interesting it can be to see another trainer on your journey. There is nothing like testing your own Pokémon against someone else and it is always fun to see how each trainer expresses himself with his team! Today, we’re excited to announce that you’ll soon be able to experience this Pokémon GO – and you might just become one of the new coaching characters in the game!
The event’s exclusive coach characters will appear on the map during the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
During the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event, you will see coach characters on the map in the game. You will be able to find and fight these trainer characters, whether you have a ticket to the Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto event. There will even be a special Timed Research that rewards you for fighting these Coaches! We hope that meeting these trainers on your Pokémon journey and engaging them in combat will help you recreate the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green game experiences.
Who will these coaches be, exactly? Well, one of them could be you!
How to Become a Trainer Character During Pokémon GO Tour: Kanto
We will organize a competition to decide which coaches will appear as characters in the game during the event. To enter, simply post the entry on Twitter until Monday, January 11, 2021, at 23:59 PST (GMT −8) and include the following items.
1. A screenshot of your coach profile that includes your coach name and shows your avatar suit. 2. A list of three Pokémon that would form your team. These Pokémon must be among those originally discovered in the Kanto region and cannot include Ditto or any Legendary or Mythical Pokémon. 3. The hashtag #PokemonGOTourContest.
We will judge your entries based on the following criteria.
+ The creativity of the avatar outfit
+ General theme
+ Pokémon team compositionTry to offer a theme, such as a cold and dynamic electric trainer or a fluid and powerful water trainer. Maybe you want to show that you are in Team Instinct, Team Mystic or Team Valor? The possibilities are endless – this is your chance to make your mark on Pokémon GO, so have fun with your coach character design!
