One of the biggest paid international events took place on Saturday Pokémon Go hosted the Kanto Tour. Costing $ 11.99, it was a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Pocket Monsters, with the successful mobile game returning to the origins of the series for a 12-hour celebration of the Pokémon OG 151. Except that some accidentally left people to enter for free.
Reports seem to indicate (Thanks Eurogamer) this was first discovered after the international start time at 09:00 crossed New Zealand and Australia, it was not caught until the rampant time wave spread to half the world, leaving a lot of people who took out the right amount for one day play a little cheese.
In response, POGO Niantic creators have promised a “bonus event” not yet detailed for those who paid to play, to try to make up for any harsh feelings.

It was certainly not the only thing that went wrong during the day, but after spending the entire 12 hours playing, I can attest that it was generally a pretty good time.
Other issues included a rather tiring period when the game would allow players to use only local raid steps when trying to enter remote raids, which certainly didn’t win me any favors PokeRaid. In addition, there was a lot Delay in the application, with millions more people, all online simultaneously.
However, for a good proportion of the day, there was a program full of tasks and challenges to go through, with the final prize of the first appearance of Shiny Ditto waiting at the end. This was accompanied by a frantic collection of collection challenges, in which all 151 Pokémon from the Kanto region were available to catch at different times of the day.
It also featured appearances of brilliant versions of each mon Kanto, including all those that had never been released before – and all with far more chances to find than usual. Every hour, the available Pokémon list changed, while the raids saw appearances from Moltres (brightly caught!), Zapdos (brightly caught!) And Articuno (stifled sadness, but there is still time). Oh, and yes, and MewTwo. Ahem. Be with me …
SHINY CAPST!
Yes, I was playing with my six-year-old child and everything was clear to him.
I still face his disappointment at discovering that brilliant Ditto notafter all, turn into the shining versions of the Pokémon he fights. (“But what’s the point then ?! He’s just another Ditto color!”) Believe me, telling him it’s the same in console games (bar type 3, I’m told) is not a consolation. Nor rationalizing the fact that it wouldn’t be a very good mime if it had a different color (but pooh on that stupid argument, Redditors, because ordinary Ditto does not mimic the glitter!).
However, ending the antics of the day has unlocked something much more interesting: chasing a bright Mew. This is not a small thing. The first round of challenges required us to get 151 great throws, which we polished in one day. The second asked us to collect 151 different species of Pokémon, plus 30 of each type of Pokémon. These are over 540 catches, although significantly reduced by monsters that overlap over two types. Oh, and to catch Pokémon for 30 days in a row. So this will prevent grinders from getting there first (but as always will allow Australians and Kiwis to put it in the sack before the rest of the world). I don’t understand what stage 3 might entail.
Keep an eye on Niantic social networks for information about what the bonus event will be. I really hope it includes another chance to get a shiny Snorlax, because that cute beast eludes me like that.
