NFL announces compensatory election for 2021 project

The NFL has provided compensatory selections for 2021 draft teams.

These elections are awarded to the teams that have suffered the most significant losses of free agent during the off-2020 season. This year, the NFL awarded 36 comp selections. The comp pick formula selects the elections that have suffered the largest net losses, so that teams that have signed more free agents are less likely to receive elections. The Cowboys top the list (shared below) with four selections in the top league.

There has been a change in the formula this year, with the NFL giving four picks to teams that saw one of their minority staff members become head coach or GM. The 49ers, Rams, Ravens and Saints won the companies in the third round this year. They will receive additional tournaments in 2022. Rams added a third round after losing the college’s research director Brad Holmes (GM Lions); Ravens lost the defenders’ coach David Culley (Texans HC); the saints lost the GM assistant Terry Fontenot (Falcons GM). In the loss of the player’s staff vice president Martin Mayhew (Washington GM) and defensive coordinator Robert Saleh (Jets HC), the 49ers will have an additional choice in the third round in 2023.
