With rumors that Apple plans to launch Apple’s 14-inch and 16-inch silicon MacBook Pro models in the second half of this year, at least one vendor plans to increase capacity in anticipation of strong demand.

Conformable DigiTimes, Taiwanese manufacturer Compeq has already seen its production capacity of high-density circuit boards fully reserved for the first half of 2021 and will expand its capacity in the second half of the year to ease the situation. The publication claims that Compeq will record a strong first half of 2021, supported by the deliveries of the volume of circuit boards for new MacBooks and iPads.

Nikkei Asia recently reported that Apple will begin mass production of two new Apple silicon MacBooks in the second half of the year. This time frame should give Apple suppliers enough time to increase production for a launch later in the year. A redesigned Apple silicon iMac is also expected to debut at some point this year.

According to well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the new MacBook Pro models will have brighter displays with Mini-LED backlight, a new design with flat-edged top and bottom, an HDMI port and SD card reader, classic charging MagSafe with a magnetic power cord and physical function keys instead of Touch Bar.

Apple stopped disclosing unit sales a few years ago, but in the first quarter of 2021, Apple reported record quarterly revenue for the $ 8.7 billion Mac. The quarter saw the launch of the first three Macs with the custom Apple M1 chip, which received rave reviews.
