New York striker punches in the face, throws anti-Asian insult

A racist attacker hit a man in the face in Harlem last month – and threw an anti-Asian insult at him during the attack, the NYPD said on Sunday.

The unidentified suspect went to a 27-year-old man near Fred Samuel Park on Lenox Boulevard, near 140th Street, around 10 pm on February 15 and pushed him, police said.

The victim then asked his attacker why he pushed him, and the suspect responded by punching him in the face and shouting at him with anti-Asian curses, police said.

The suspect fled, heading for 139th Street, according to police.

The attacker was last seen wearing a black jacket, a black hat and a black bandana, which he used as a face mask, images published by the NYPD show.

He is still at large, police said.
