Rumors about the next compact smartphone model preferred by Apple fans are already in force, although it could be much more than a year before we see one.
Analyst Ross Young posted on Twitter on April 1 – grain of salt, etc. – that the next iPhone SE will arrive in 2022 with the same form factor of 4.7 inches as the current SE. This refreshed model, Wrote Young, could come equipped with Sub-65G GHz variation rather than support for all bands, inclusive ultrafast spectrum of millimeter waves. Young also mentioned hearing a 6.1-inch model with a “drilling hole rather than a notch” that could be launched in 2023.
Part of this is thrown away with a previous report by Apple’s trusted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo last month. Citing a Kuo supply chain report, 9to5Mac reported that Kuo also expects 5G connectivity to reach a 2022 model of the iPhone SE. Kuo also said he expects a 2022 model to have a 4.7-inch design, but with an updated processor.
The most interesting of these rumors is that Apple might plan to eliminate the form factor of the SE for a larger display. It is unclear whether the SE model will have the same size body as the thinner frames or whether Apple will size the SE model (the latter would be bad news for those with small hands).
With the fact that it looks like we have more than a year to get a newer iPhone SE – according to reports that have a new version designed for 2022 – there is still plenty of time for rumors about SE to generate hype around a newer device. and stronger. But it looks interesting.
