Rhode Island’s new online online vaccination registration tool is active.

The site can be found here and will allow the Rhode Islands to register for vaccinations. Some have already signed up.

The site was developed by ClinicWizard Inc. – a division of the Multi-State Partnership for Prevention, which is a subsidiary of the Maryland Partnership for Prevention.

The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) has identified Prepmod – ClinicWizard’s sister technology that was identified in the department’s highly questionable plan presented to the CDC in October. A GoLocal investigation revealed numerous errors in the state plan.

RIDOH declined to provide an updated copy of the agency’s updated CDC plan or immunization plan.

The state plan presented in October stated: “Vaccine reporting during the COVID-19 response requires many new and existing data exchange systems. During H1N1, registered providers did not use the online vaccine reporting system, as RIDOH intended, because it was a manual process, and providers often did not submit data upon request. Because the Rhode Island Adult Immunization Registry is new, some providers are on board for the first time and those who do not have the ability to send HL7 files to the registry will use PrepMod, which is also new. ”

According to the state plan, “Training for vaccination sites that will use the PrepMod system is provided through the PrepMod vendor and coordinated by the training coordinator within the RIDOH Immunization Program. The training coordinator is the liaison for all vaccination sites and helps to schedule training and address any additional training needs. The trainings will be offered online to all administrative staff who will use the system. The mass vaccinators, the staff of the MV working group and other members of the state staff and the hospitals that will use PrepMod will be trained next month.

And, RIDOH wrote: “The vendor that developed and supports PrepMod is aware of the CDC’s COVID-19 vaccine data requirements and is working to adapt the system to ensure that it meets all necessary data collection and reporting requirements. RIDOH will upload COVID provider enrollment files to the CDC twice a week as needed in a data-based CSV file from a PrepMod extract file. “

According to RIDOH, “Reports can be run in RICAIR [Rhode Island Child and Adult Immunization Registry] up to the supplier level to monitor the doses administered. PrepMod includes a real-time inventory tracking feature.

“If PrepMod is completely inaccessible, Rhode Island may return to paper registration, including those processes referred to in the Rhode Island Emergency Medical Distribution System Plan (maintained by RIDOH).”
