A new song with the rap legend DMX, Swizz Beatz and French Montana has been released. “Been to War”, which appears in season two of the Epix series Harlem’s godfather, comes about a week after DMX died of an apparent drug overdose and a subsequent heart attack. Listen to “You Were at War” below.
Prior to his death, DMX was hospitalized and received day-to-day care. After his death, countless members of the music community shared words of remembrance. Among them was Swizz Beatz, who posted a tribute to the rapper as a video on Instagram, describing him as “a different kind of artist, a different kind of creative, a different kind of soul.”
