New coach Robert Saleh is already a hit with the Jets

Two of the biggest and youngest Jets stars are ecstatic about the team’s new head coach.

Shortly after it was announced that 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh had been hired to take over the Jets, defensive lineman Quinnen Williams and offensive lineman Mekhi Becton expressed their heartfelt support for the move.

“YESSS SIRRRRRRRRRR,” Williams wrote on Twitter, along with his praying hands, bending and pulling emojis.

Becton wrote a similar letter, “YESSSS SIRRRRR !!!!! LET’S WORK COACH !!!!! “He also included a GIF of someone punching with enthusiasm.

Williams is coming off a successful second season with the Jets and seems to be a cornerstone of his defense. Becton drew a lot of praise as a rookie who protected Sam Darnold and could be the anchor of the offensive line for years to come.

Salah, 41, who was heading to the Jets, who finished 2-14, received an opinion from former Jet Damien Woody, who is also an analyst for ESPN.

“The first time in a while, I felt that #Jets are on the right track,” Woody wrote on Twitter.

49ers safety Richard Sherman was also a fan of the move.

“@Nyjets received a great one! Congratulations to them! “, Pro Bowler posted on Twitter.

He also made a bold prediction in a text to NFL reporter Albert Breer.

“Wonderful!” Sherman wrote. “The whole culture will return!”

According to Breer, 49ers general manager John Lynch called Saleh “an extremely talented leader” and said the Jets are “very lucky.”
