Netflix has released a glorious and profane trailer for “History of Swear Words,” a six-part comedy about swearing hosted by 56-year-old National Treasure icon Nicolas Cage.
The two-minute teaser released on Tuesday opens – quite appropriately – with the actor “Face / Off” and “Raising Arizona”, who removes a bleeding F-bomb, before inviting the spectators to join him on a journey through history, evolution and cultural impact of swearing. ”
To shed light on the taboo subject, each 20-minute episode, the star “Moonstruck” will meet a lot of etymology experts, historians and celebrities who explain the origins of profanities, from “f – – k” to “p – – – y. “
Cage’s star list includes Nick Offerman, Sarah Silverman and Patti Harrison in the category of celebrities and cognitive scientist Benjamin Bergen, linguist Anne Charity Hudley and lexicographer Kory Stamper in the expert field.
“History of Swear Words” premieres on January 5 on Netflix.
