NC is among the lowest distributions of vaccines :: WRAL.com

– A recently released map from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows how vaccine distribution states work.

The interactive map follows two things – the rate of people who received the first dose and the number of vaccinations distributed – the number of vaccines sent.

Nationally, more than 4.5 million people received the first round of vaccinations. There are still 11 million distributed doses that have not yet been used.

As of January 4, seven states, including North Carolina, are presented in a light blue. These are the states that have vaccinated less than 1,000 people out of 100,000.

North Carolina rate – 966 people per 100,000. It is less than just five other states in the country.

The West Virginia rate is more than triple that of North Carolina.

The vaccine distribution rate for our state is not much better, still in light blue and ranked among the lowest 10 vaccines that have been distributed so far.

When analyzing the percentage of vaccinations that were distributed compared to those administered, North Carolina gave only 25.5%, not much less than the nation, which is at 29.5%.
