Among the many premiums from NASA’s mission of perseverance on Mars is the space agency’s first program in Spanish to broadcast a planetary landing live.
On Thursday, February 18, at 2:30 p.m., NASA will broadcast “We persevere together”, a program that will give viewers an overview of the mission to Mars and It will highlight the role that Hispanic professionals at NASA have played in its success.
The show will be broadcast at 14:30 EST on the agency’s website and on your social media accounts in spanish: Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
“Let’s Persevere Together” will begin airing before the Red Planet Perseverance lands, which will take place at approximately 3:55 pm EST.

The first program in Spanish of a historical mission
“I am very proud of NASA’s efforts to better share the enthusiasm of the Perseverance rover with the nearly 500 million Spanish speakers worldwide. “Together we persevere” is the first NASA program in Spanish for a historic landing on another planet and will show the diversity of the NASA team after Mars 2020 “, said Bhayva Lal, NASA’s chief of staff. “The name of the program recognizes that perseverance and diversity are essential for NASA to successfully complete ambitious missions, such as landing next week’s perseverance.”

“We persevere together” will be presented by the engineer from Perseverance Diana Trujillo.
A pre-registered section will include interviews with Hispanic NASA scientists, engineers and astronauts.
Also there will be a children’s segment in collaboration with Sésamo.
Prominent Hispanic students and figures from the worlds of entertainment, journalism and politics will also send messages of support.
Diana Trujillo will provide live translation and commentary from English-Spanish during the phase of entering, descending and landing Perseverance on Mars.
The mission of perseverance on Mars
The Perseverance Rover will look for signs of past microbial life, collect selected samples of rocks and sediments for future transport on Earth, characterize the geology and climate of Mars, and pave the way for future human exploration beyond the Moon.
This is NASA’s fifth rover on Mars, and if successful, will be NASA’s ninth landing on the Red Planet.
All landings on Mars are difficult, but NASA’s Perseverance rover is trying to land on the most challenging terrain on Mars ever attacked.
Perseverance also has a technological experiment, the Mars Ingenuity helicopter, which will try to perform the first controlled and powered flight from another planet.
