Services such as hairdressing salons and wine tasting rooms are closed.
When you stay at home stricter, counties return to the state’s four-color system, based on new case rates and other data. Violet has the most restrictions, going to red, orange and yellow, with the smallest restrictions.
“We’re in deep purple,” Relucio said.
Napa County had about 2,500 new cases of COVID-19 in December. That’s four times the July total and double the November total, Relucio said.
Federal and state health officials say COVID-19 vaccines should eventually end the pandemic.
Napa County has about 139,000 inhabitants. Relucio told supervisors that the county received 6,300 doses of COVID-19 vaccine and administered 3,318 doses.
Vaccinations are administered on a phased basis from state and federal governments. The first phase in progress includes acute health workers, those in psychiatric hospitals and qualified healthcare institutions, paramedics and dialysis staff.
The next two months could extend the categories to, among others, home health care and dental workers. March could start vaccinations for people over the age of 75 and for people in the food, agriculture, education and childcare sectors.
