Mystikal’s rape charges dropped due to lack of evidence

The rape allegations resulting from a 2017 indictment against Mystikal were dropped due to lack of evidence. A grand jury returned a No True Bill against Mystikal, real name Michael Lawrence Tyler, 50, who was arrested on a first-degree rape charge in 2017.

After his arrest in 2017, a grand jury charged Tyler with each first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping. “However, additional evidence and information were found, and the case was referred to this second grand jury in the interests of justice,” the prosecutor’s office noted on Thursday. “Based on the grand jury’s decision, District Attorney Caddo Parish’s office will dismiss the pending charges against Mr. Tyler.”
