MX League: Chivas vs Pumas will play behind closed doors at Akron

After talking about a possible reopening of Akron Stadium for the duel in Chivas Rayadas from Guadalajara before Pumele UNAM on this day 8 of Closing of 2021, the match will be played behind closed doors.

Through its social networks, Turma Sacra reported that the duel against the National University Club will be played without fans in the stands, after the Jalisco State Health Council established this.

“After a few days of working with Mesa de Salud, we decided NOT to open the doors of @EstadioAkron this Sunday vs. Pume. The health of our fans will continue as a priority and we will wait for the right moment for #VolverteAVer “

With the decrease in the number of Covd-19 cases in the state and the new measures imposed by the Jalisco Government, it seemed that the teams in Guadalajara could reopen their stadiums on the 8th and 9th, however, Chivas will still have to wait.

According to FOX Sports reporter Natalia León, Chivas allegedly tried to open Akron by 40%, a situation for which the Jalisco government rejected the request.

“State government sources indicate that @Chivas intended a capacity of about 40% for the opening to be profitable, however, this amount was impossible to approve.”
