Mrs Ghislaine Maxwell, accused by Jeffrey Epstein, sells house in London to pay legal fees

A family spokeswoman, Ghislaine Maxwell, is selling her London home to finance her legal fees. The former partner and accused wife of Jeffrey Epstein, in federal custody since July accused of helping in Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme, owned a house in the upscale Belgravia neighborhood. Maxwell’s representative did not confirm the sale price, but nearby homes were recently sold for $ 3.6 million to $ 11.2 million. The sale caused Maxwell to have problems with her bank, Barclays, which closed her account after the buyer deposited the advance. Prosecutors have accused Maxwell, the daughter of controversial publisher Robert Maxwell, of helping Epstein abuse underage girls in the late 1990s. One of Epstein’s accusers claims that she was brought to the London house to have sex with Prince Andrew. Andrew denies the allegations; Maxwell pleaded not guilty.
