Mother in ‘riot duo’ is now charged with conspiracy in the siege of the Capitol

The mother of a Tennessee man accused of carrying zip ties in the Capitol has been charged with conspiring with her son during the violent siege.

The FBI arrested Lisa Eisenhart, 56, in Nashville, Tennessee, on Saturday on charges of conspiracy, unlawful entry into a restricted building, and violent entry or disorderly conduct for alleged burglary into the Capitol on Jan. 6, according to a criminal complaint.

Her son Eric Munchel – who was photographed wearing zippers and paramilitary equipment in the Capitol – was arrested on January 10 on similar charges.

The United States Law Firm for the Middle District of Tennessee announced the mother’s arrest on Twitter, next to a photo of the mother-son duo with Eisenhart wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat and a black tactical vest. Munchel can be seen dressed all in black.

The complaint alleges that Eisenhart also wore ‘flexible cuffs’ or ‘plastic shackles’ – just like her son – as she and Munchel joined a crowd of rioters chasing two police officers.

Video footage of the inside of the US Capitol captures Eisenhart and Munchel near a crowd of individuals physically assaulting two Capitol Police agents guarding access to Senate chambers, the legal filing said.

The images eventually show agents Eisenhart and Munchel running past. Several members of the mafia give chase. Immediately after they have passed, Eisenhart and Munchel immediately follow the persons who are chasing the officers ”, it says.

“Munchel and Eisenhart are seen with flexible cuffs in each of their hands during the chase,” the complaint continues.

On Thursday, FBI Director Christopher Wray said more than 100 people were arrested in the Capitol Hill attack that killed five people, and more than 200 suspects have been identified.
