Dave Clark, Amazon’s top executive, tried to mock Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) On Twitter and was immediately bombarded with negative news articles about the company.
Clark, who is the CEO of the international consumer unit Amazon, posted on Twitter on Wednesday about Sanders’ upcoming trip to Alabama, where the senator will meet with Amazon workers who are pushing for unionization, Reuters reported.
“I greet @SenSanders in Birmingham and appreciate his effort for a progressive job,” Clark wrote. Then he added diligently: “I often say that we are Bernie Sanders of employers, but this is not really right, because we actually offer a progressive job.”
“So if you want to hear about $ 15 an hour and health care, Senator Sanders will speak downtown,” Clark added. “But if you want to earn at least $ 15 an hour and have good health care, Amazon is hiring.”
1/3 Hello @SenSanders in Birmingham and appreciate his drive for a progressive job. I often say that we are Bernie Sanders of employers, but this is not really right, because we actually offer a progressive job https://t.co/Fq8D6vyuh9

2/3 for our constituents: a minimum wage of $ 15, day care, career advancement and a safe and inclusive work environment.

Clark’s job has been reported by critics, including Clinton-era Labor Secretary Robert Reich and Sara Nelson, president of the Flight Attendant Association’s union, responded with articles claiming unsafe working conditions for Amazon employees:
– Forcing workers to urinate in bottles
– Dismissing pregnant women for taking too many bath breaks
– Hiring analysts to monitor “threats to the workforce”
– Hiring participants in mandatory anti-union meetingsThis is what a senior vice president of Amazon calls the “progressive job.” https://t.co/l1BTe2SLqO

Sick. Without touching arrogant greedy Bs. $ 15 is the floor and it’s pathetic for the work that people do in inhumane conditions. You will not even let people use the elevators, because this is saved for the product. It reminds me of the owners of me 100 years ago, more concerned with mules than men https://t.co/EihA06Q4eR
