Morgan Wallen throws a personal letter to fans, saying he will not tour

Morgan Wallen says he has worked on himself and will have to continue working on himself. He will not play any live shows this summer, he says.

Referring specifically to the tour dates with Luke Bryan and the festival schedule, Wallen says he leans in: “But it’s important to me personally, if you can, to keep going to these shows – support country music,” he writes. “Country music is back and it’s a beautiful thing.”

Wallen was scheduled to open Bryan Proud’s tour of Be Right Here in May and had some festival dates on his calendar.

Most of the 27-year-old’s handwritten note focuses on his response. Dangerous: The Double Album release in January. He talks about how proud he is of the album and how much he appreciated the support of his fans during this time.

“I’ve felt a lot of love lately from so many people I haven’t met yet,” he says. “I know my corner hasn’t been the most popular in years, but many of you have done it anyway.”

Wallen ‘s album debuted at number 1 on Panel 200 and I spent 10 unprecedented weeks there. Most of the second slide is about gratitude – then he goes to the events that led to his silence on social media and, finally, why he takes time off the road.

“I made some mistakes, I realize these, + I apologized because I’m really sorry + I fixed it,” he says.

There are no detailed details on how Wallen is repairing. He refers to the fact that he was caught using the word N on the camera, which led to his music being removed from playlist and streaming playlists, and his booking agent gave it up, among other things.

“I wanted to let you guys know that I took a few months away + I feel like I really worked on myself,” he adds. “I am proud of the work I have done + in many ways grateful that I had time to do it. I needed this free time.”

He also notices that he is proud of the man he is and becomes while stressing that he hopes at the age of 32 he will be different. The note ends with his sharing that he has returned to Nashville, “returning to the cradle of things.”

“My story is far from over and coming back to see you all is all I can think of,” the letter concludes. “So all you know is that you’ll see me sooner rather than later.”

His note does not directly mention several billboards that were placed around the city of Nashville and that were paid for by fans who call him their Host of the Year. Taste of Country has learned that the signs will remain lit for a week and that its fans are expected to continue their protest during the ACM awards.
