Nearly 85,000 Utahns are fully vaccinated after receiving both doses of the vaccine.

The number of Utahns who have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine now exceeds the total number of positive tests for the disease.
According to the Utah Department of Health, nearly 363,000 doses were injected into patients – which includes both the first and second doses. It is about 11,400 more than the number of coronavirus cases reported in the state.
As of Thursday, 84,154 Utahns have been fully vaccinated after receiving both doses of the vaccine.
The number of coronavirus-related deaths in Utah exceeded 1,700, with another 14 deaths reported. (Three of these deaths occurred before January 14 and were recently confirmed only as a result of COVID-19.)
Overall, there has been a decline in the community’s spread of the virus “throughout the state,” state epidemiologist Dr. Angela Dunn said Thursday. There are hotspots such as Summit County and southwestern Utah, so there is an additional focus there on tracking and testing contacts, she said.
“Things are looking great for us in Utah,” she said, as long as people continue to follow coronavirus prevention guidelines, which are especially important as COVID-19 spreads.
