Monster Hunter Rise is officially no longer an exclusive switch that comes to PC in 2022

We are exactly one month away Monster Hunter Rise early release. Released on March 26, it’s a welcome return for Capcom’s action RPG series on Nintendo platforms, after we missed 2018 Monster Hunter World. Originally announced as the exclusive Switch, Capcom has just confirmed that Rise is now coming to the PC – something that was reported recently after Capcom data piracy.

Speaking to Fanbyte for an interview, producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Yasunori Ichinose revealed that the PC version will not be released until 2022, saying the port is “still very much under development.” Nothing has been mentioned about other consoles, so for now, Monster Hunter Rise remains an exclusive console for Switch.

There’s no reason for Switch fans to be worried about this, as the duo confirmed how they “set out to make a game for Switch”, fully aware of the console’s shortcomings in this regard. This includes a strong emphasis on portability, the game’s advice is designed around “the ability to pick up and play whenever you want”.

As such, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin remains an exclusive Switch. There is no news if it will also receive a computer port, but we can’t rule this out either, given that it has cross-compatibility with Rise. We are waiting for more details about this functionality, so we will keep you updated as we find out more.
