Monday’s Detroit Pistons-Denver Nuggets game was postponed a few minutes before takeoff

Monday’s game at the Detroit Pistons-Denver Nuggets was postponed a few minutes before the scheduled 21:00 ET age at the Ball Arena due to tracking contacts within the Pistons, the NBA announced.

Detroit returned a positive / inconclusive coronavirus test on one player, sources for ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski said. The Pistons were watching the movies before the game when they found out about the delay.

The NBA recently made the decision to postpone the games to a single potentially positive test.

Detroit was set to play the second game of a five-city trip to the Western Conference in Denver on Monday. The Pistons have scheduled games against Jazz (Tuesday), Suns (Friday) and Lakers (Saturday).

The team remained in Denver, re-evaluating the players after Monday’s postponement, but was to leave for Salt Lake City and expect to be able to cope with jazz on Tuesday, sources told ESPN.

Monday’s game was set to mark the return of two former Nuggets – Jerami Grant and Mason Plumlee. Denver players could be seen talking and hugging their former teammates during the pre-game warm-ups.

This is the 23rd game postponed due to COVID-19 this NBA season.
