Valheim regularly. Exploring is fun, building is fun, walking the trolls around the islands while crying quietly for yourself, while touching the dance on the edge of death, is fun. But nothing is perfect, especially games with early access. So I don’t think we need to have children here: ValheimThe inventory sucks. Praise to Odin for the moderates.

Although amazingly popular the survival game mode scene is very, very young, modders have already disappeared pig bonkers with improving the quality of life. That’s good because ValheimInventory, in particular, is constrained and unpleasant. Part of this – especially its small size – is deliberate, encouraging players to gather at communal bases and work together to build objects such as carts to transport more supplies.

But other elements make no sense. Armor, for example, remains in inventory even when equipped, taking up valuable space and forcing you to stop and throw resources into the woods every five minutes to compensate. And you have to throw, because you can’t just destroy the objects you don’t need. And this is a pain: say you have returned to your base and realize that you have superfluous resources or equipment. You mess up your group’s chests with them, move away from your base and leave the objects on the ground, or disturb everyone by throwing objects on the floor at your base (this is me).

Fortunately, a handful of inventory modes can alleviate all of these problems. First, there is Quick Equipment and Slots mode by RandyKnapp. It offers equipped items their own separate inventory segment and also gives you a few extra quick slots capable of quick access – useful for potions and the like. If you still find yourself without space (and you will) Discard Inventory mode by Aedenthorn is probably your best bet. Allows you to select items and delete them permanently. Be warned: this means they will disappear forever, so choose wisely.

If you want to go a little further beyond the limits of the game, there is MoreSlots mode of Fang86. It gives you more inventory slots, with the warning that “you do not he loses objects to death ”. It’s a bit of a scam, so you might object if you try to play easily. If you just want to bring your unhappy architectural dreams to life, though – let the rest of the game be damn good – then give up.

I only scratched the surface of those already available Valheim ways. If you want more general quality of life improvements, Valheim Plus ”mod of NX_ is a necessity. Improves construction and allows players to change stats. If you’re in the market for something a little more practical, you might as well first person mode by Kailen_ for a spin. Finally, you can see up close the horrible faces of Greydwarves (and your overworked inventory).
