MLB Show 21 is, again, a really Good sports game – future review – but there are some aspects that have attracted criticism since launch. Road to the Show, the popular single-player series campaign, was in the eye of the storm – especially in enthusiastic communities like Reddit. Fortunately, the Sony San Diego team monitored the feedback and promised improvements.
Here’s the problem: the latest game unifies the progress of your Ballballer player between the way mentioned above Road to the Show and the way of collecting Diamond Dynasty cards. This, in concept, is great because it means you can use the player created in both modes and progress. Unfortunately, it has introduced a number of problems that are not present in previous installments.
The main thing is that progress is extremely slow – especially if you only play Road to the Show. This, according to Sony San Diego, will be improved in the following patch: “We’re fixing an issue where ball players aren’t making enough progress from their Road to the Show training options and basic gains in a future update.” a blog post reads. Some complained that they felt the series was pushing them towards microtransactions – we disagree, it’s certainly not NBA 2K21 – but Sony San Diego stressed that this is not its goal: it should feel that I can progress freely by playing Road to the Show and only Road to the Show. Any participation in DD is purely optional and at no time should anyone feel that they need money to advance their career on the Road to Performance. ”
We hope that this can be ordered promptly, because progress throughout the game feels quite stingy, in general, in this year that we feel.
